ICMR INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIPS BY INDIAN COUNCIL OF MEDICAL RESEARCH.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) invites application from Indian biomedical Scientists for the international fellowships for the year 2011-12. Number of fellowships is 12 for young scientists & 6 for senior scientists.

Eligibility

1.    M.D. / Ph.D. degree with at least three years teaching /research experience for young scientists and at least fifteen years teaching /research experience for senior scientists.
2.    Regular position in a recognized biomedical/research/health institution in india.
3.    Below 45 years of age for young and 55 years for senior scientists.

Financial support: US $ 2400 per month, contingency grant of Rs. 15,000/- and return economy class air ticket  (excursion airfare) for young scientists, US $ 160 per day (including US$ 75 as per diem and rest for accommodation expenses) and return economy class air ticket (excursion airfare) for senior scientists.

Note:

1.    The applicant should submit a letter of acceptance from the foreign institute where he/she proposes to work along with a concrete plan of training / research work to be undertaken during the fellowship.
2.    Recommendation by the head of the parent organization / Institute is essential.
3.    Incomplete applications will not be entertained.
4.    Decision of ICMR will be final.
5.    If selected, the fellowship is to be availed before 28th February, 2012.

4.    Master of Population Studies (Through correspondence) (100 Seats): Master’s degree in any social science subject/Health/Math/Stst or allied subjects from recognized Indian / Foreign Universities passed candidates are eligible for this course.
5.    Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in population Studies (Full Time): Candidate having M.Phil or Masters Degree in population Studies of a recognized university with at least 55% of marks having candidates are eligible for this course.

Government of India Fellowships @ Rs. 12,000/- per month for 1st & 2nd Years and Rs. 14,000/- per month for 3rd year respectively available for the Indian students who have qualified NET for lectureship only in Population or it’s Interdisciplinary subjects conducted by the UGC. Such Ph.D. Fellowships also carries a contingency grant of Rs. 10,000/- per year for the first 2 years and Rs. 20,500/- for the 3rd year. However the candidates without NET qualification shall be given fellowships @ 6,250/- per month for the 1st & 2nd years and Rs. 7,000/- per month for the 3rd year with a contingency grant of Rs. 10,000/- per year. Number of seats will be as per the availability of fellowships at the time of admission. In addition UGC-JRF & other fellowship holders will also be consider for admission as per availability of seats.

Reservation for SC/ST/OBC & PH candidates will be considered as per the govt. of India norms.

(Engg.): CSIR-UGC NET for JRF, or UGC-NET for JRF; or DBT JRF or ICMR JRF; or JEST, or NBHM or IISc Entrance test; or GATE. This is not applicable to the candidates who possess a Master’s Degree in Engineering / Technology / Management (post BE/B.Tech.) who wish to apply for the departments in the Engineering Faculty.

IISc Entrance Test is conducted in Atmospheric Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Ecological Sciences, Mathematics, Management Studies, and Materials Sciences.

2. Candidates with BE/B.Tech or equivalent degree who may not have qualified in any of the above mentioned National Entrance Tests will also be considered for the Ph D. program in Engineering. Short listing for interview of such candidates is based on their academic performance in the qualifying degree (up to 3rd year in BE/B Tech.), and their performance in 10th and 12th /PUC examinations.

Selection is based on valid GATE Score only.
(B)    M.Tech. in Electronics Design & Technology, Computational Science, Climate Science, Transportation & Infrastructure Engineering and Instrumentation: Minimum second class in the qualifying examination with valid GATE score holders is eligible for this course.
(C) M.Des  in Product Design & Engineering: Minimum second class at Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Design / Architecture or Post B.Sc. AMIE or equivalent degree in Engineering including Architecture with –valid GATE / CEED Scores holders are eligible for this course. Selection is based on a Design Aptitude test and interview subsequent to sort-listing based on valid GATE / CEED Scores.
(D) Master of Management (M.Mgt): Minimum first class in Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or equivalent degree with valid GATE / JMET scores are eligible to apply for this course.

(iii) integrated Ph.D. Program

1.    Biological Sciences: First class in B.Sc. degree under 10+2+3 year system or equivalent in Physical, Chemical or Biological Sciences (including Pharmaceutical Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences) passed candidates are eligible for this course.
2.    Chemical Sciences: First class in B.Sc. degree under 10+2+3 year system or equivalent with Chemistry as one of the main subject associated with Mathematics at PUC (plus 2) level passed candidates are eligible for this course.
3.    Physical Sciences: First class in B.Sc. degree under 10+2+3 year system or equivalent with Physics as a main subjects passed candidates are eligible for this course.
4.    Mathematical Sciences: First class in B.Sc. degree under 10+2+3 year system or equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subjects or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology passed candidates is eligible for this course.

      (iv)External Registration Program (Ph.D. Only)

1.    It is a sponsored Research Program for Working Professionals from R&D organization / Industries and for faculty members from Engineering, Agricultural, Pharmaceutical, Veterinary, Medical Colleges, Universities, recognized by the appropriate government agencies.
2.    Ph.D. in Science: All the science departments as indicated in (i) except High Energy Physics and solid state & Structural Chemistry.
3.    Ph.D. in Engineering: All the Engineering departments as indicated in (i)

Qualifications remain the same as for the regular candidates. Apart from that the candidate should have two years of continuous service in a permanent position in the current organization.

All the regular students who join the institute are eligible for IISc scholarship/fellowship from CSIR/UGC/ICMR/MHRD/AICTE/NBHM as the case may be. Scholarships from many Indian & multinational agencies and business houses are also available for meritorious students.

The NIMCET2011 is a national level entrance test conducted by the nominated NIT for admission to the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme offered by the NITs located at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal.

The admission to MCA programme offered by these NITs for the year 2011-12 will be only based on the Rank obtained in NIMCET-2011 entrance examination. The NIMCET 2011 entrance examination will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at different centers. The test will be held for duration of two hours and will consist of objective type of questions on Mathematics, Analytical ability & logical reasoning, Computer awareness & general English.

The candidate are required to fill online application form available at www.nimcet2011nitb.in website and should also send a print out of electronically submitted form along with all the necessary documents and processing fee in the form of demand draft on or before April 11, 2011 by registered post / speed post / by hand to the Chairman / Secretary, NIMCET-2011, Moulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal – 462051 (MP).
