Application forms and prosectus for admission to the following programmes of study are being issued by the university from 7th February 2011.
Category-A (Through Entrance Test): M.Phil./Ph.D., Pre-Ph.D./Ph.D., MPH/Ph.D, M.Tech./Ph.D., M.A., M.Sc., MCA, and B.A. (Hons) in Foreign Languages.
Category B- Direct admission to Ph.D. programme in all schools either on the basics of viva-voce or written examination and viva-voce both as may be decided by the university.
Category C- M.Phil/Pre-Ph.D/Ph.D. in Science Schools except Molecular Medicine (only JRF holders) either on the basic of Viva-Voce or written examination and viva-voce both as may be decided by the university.
Entrance examination for admission to various programmes of study under category ‘A’ will be held between 17th & 20th may 2011 in 51 cities in india and also in Kathmandu (Nepal).
Sets of Application form and Prospectus can be obtained either (i) through post by sending crossed bank draft (Valid for Six months) for Rs. 300/- drawn in favour of Jawaharlal Nehru University payable at New Delhi along with a self-addressed (unstamped) envelope of the minimum size of 30 cms X 25 cms clearly indicating the programme of study for which the application form is required on the self addressed envelope to the section Officer (Admissions), Room No. 28, Administrative Block, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi-110067. Money orders & Cheques are not accepted. Or in person from the counter in the administrative block of the university on cash payment of Rs. 200/- per set from 10.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. and from 2.00 P.M. to 4.00 P.M. on all working days. BPL card holders will be issued a set of application form & prospectus free of cost on submission of a copy of BPL card issued by the competent authority showing their name in the card
Last date for issue of application forms by post is March 10, 2011 & at cash counter is March 21, 2011. Last date for receipt of completed application forms is March 21, 2011.

JNCASR invites applications for admission to the integrated (int) Ph.D programme in Materials Science, Chemical Science and Biological Science. The integrated Ph.D. programme in Biological Science will be independently offer in the disciplines of ‘Evolutionary and Organismal Biology and Molecular Biology and Genetics.
Eligibility criteria for Int. Ph.D. Programme
1. Materials Science: Bachelor’s Degree in any Branch of Science. Those with Bachelors Degree in Engineering with an aptitude towards Scientific Research will al so be considered. Candidates are expected to have sound knowledge in the fundamentals of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
2. Chemical science: Bachelors Degree in any branch of Science with Chemistry as a major.
3. Biological Science A) Evolutionary and Organismal Biology: Bachelor Degree in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics. Those with Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with an aptitude toward scientific research will also be considered. B) Molecular Biology and Genetics: Bachelor’s Degree in any branch of Science.
For all the above Int. Ph.D. programmes candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelors level . candidates who are appearing for the final examination this year can also apply
