ICMR INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIPS BY INDIAN COUNCIL OF MEDICAL RESEARCH.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) invites application from Indian biomedical Scientists for the international fellowships for the year 2011-12. Number of fellowships is 12 for young scientists & 6 for senior scientists.
Eligibility
1. M.D. / Ph.D. degree with at least three years teaching /research experience for young scientists and at least fifteen years teaching /research experience for senior scientists.
2. Regular position in a recognized biomedical/research/health institution in india.
3. Below 45 years of age for young and 55 years for senior scientists.
Financial support: US $ 2400 per month, contingency grant of Rs. 15,000/- and return economy class air ticket (excursion airfare) for young scientists, US $ 160 per day (including US$ 75 as per diem and rest for accommodation expenses) and return economy class air ticket (excursion airfare) for senior scientists.
Note:
1. The applicant should submit a letter of acceptance from the foreign institute where he/she proposes to work along with a concrete plan of training / research work to be undertaken during the fellowship.
2. Recommendation by the head of the parent organization / Institute is essential.
3. Incomplete applications will not be entertained.
4. Decision of ICMR will be final.
5. If selected, the fellowship is to be availed before 28th February, 2012.

International Institute of population Sciences invites application from eligible candidates for admission in to the following courses
1. Diploma in Population Studies (through Correspondence) (60 Seats): A graduate degree or equivalent from recognized Indian or Foreign universities holders are eligible for this course.
2. Master of Arts/Science in Population Studies (M.A./M.Sc.) (25 including foreign students – All Self Financed): Bachelor’s degree from recognized universities in India or abroad having candidate is eligible for this course. Preference shall be given to candidates holding a bachelors degree in Math/Stat/Eco or any Social Science Subject.
3. Master of Population Studies (32 seats with Govt. of India Fellowship plus 18 seats for self financed): Master’s Degree from recognized universities with at least 55% of marks or equivalent grade in Math/Stat/Eco or any Social Science Subject having candidates are eligible for this course.
4. Master of Population Studies (Through correspondence) (100 Seats): Master’s degree in any social science subject/Health/Math/Stst or allied subjects from recognized Indian / Foreign Universities passed candidates are eligible for this course.
5. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in population Studies (Full Time): Candidate having M.Phil or Masters Degree in population Studies of a recognized university with at least 55% of marks having candidates are eligible for this course.
Government of India Fellowships @ Rs. 12,000/- per month for 1st & 2nd Years and Rs. 14,000/- per month for 3rd year respectively available for the Indian students who have qualified NET for lectureship only in Population or it’s Interdisciplinary subjects conducted by the UGC. Such Ph.D. Fellowships also carries a contingency grant of Rs. 10,000/- per year for the first 2 years and Rs. 20,500/- for the 3rd year. However the candidates without NET qualification shall be given fellowships @ 6,250/- per month for the 1st & 2nd years and Rs. 7,000/- per month for the 3rd year with a contingency grant of Rs. 10,000/- per year. Number of seats will be as per the availability of fellowships at the time of admission. In addition UGC-JRF & other fellowship holders will also be consider for admission as per availability of seats.
Reservation for SC/ST/OBC & PH candidates will be considered as per the govt. of India norms.
