ICMR INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIPS BY INDIAN COUNCIL OF MEDICAL RESEARCH.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) invites application from Indian biomedical Scientists for the international fellowships for the year 2011-12. Number of fellowships is 12 for young scientists & 6 for senior scientists.

Eligibility

1.    M.D. / Ph.D. degree with at least three years teaching /research experience for young scientists and at least fifteen years teaching /research experience for senior scientists.
2.    Regular position in a recognized biomedical/research/health institution in india.
3.    Below 45 years of age for young and 55 years for senior scientists.

Financial support: US $ 2400 per month, contingency grant of Rs. 15,000/- and return economy class air ticket  (excursion airfare) for young scientists, US $ 160 per day (including US$ 75 as per diem and rest for accommodation expenses) and return economy class air ticket (excursion airfare) for senior scientists.

Note:

1.    The applicant should submit a letter of acceptance from the foreign institute where he/she proposes to work along with a concrete plan of training / research work to be undertaken during the fellowship.
2.    Recommendation by the head of the parent organization / Institute is essential.
3.    Incomplete applications will not be entertained.
4.    Decision of ICMR will be final.

Government of India Fellowships @ Rs. 12,000/- per month for 1st & 2nd Years and Rs. 14,000/- per month for 3rd year respectively available for the Indian students who have qualified NET for lectureship only in Population or it’s Interdisciplinary subjects conducted by the UGC. Such Ph.D. Fellowships also carries a contingency grant of Rs. 10,000/- per year for the first 2 years and Rs. 20,500/- for the 3rd year.
