ADMISSION IN TO CT COURSE (TEACHERS TRAINING).

Directorate of Teacher Education and SCERT, Orissa invites application from eligible candidates for admission in to 2 year CT Course at District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs), District Resource Centres (DRCs) and Government Secondary Training Schools of the State.

Eligibility:
1.    The candidate must be a permanent resident of Orissa or outlying oriya tract of west Bengal / Chhattisgarh / Jharkhand / Andhra Pradesh.
2.    candidates must have passed higher secondary / +2 examination in Arts / commerce / science from CHSE or its equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in case of general candidates and 45% of marks in aggregate in case of SC, ST and OBC / SEBC candidate excluding marks secured in fourth optional / extra optional .
3.    The candidates must have passed ORIYA as MIL up to Matriculation standard or any such equivalent or higher examination (+2) or should have passed oriya as a subject in special examination conducted by the BSE, Orissa of HSC standard or should have passed HSC examination of BSE, Orissa in Oriya medium with MIL other than Oriya. In case of candidate who have assed without oriya as MIL should submit a certificate to the effect from the concern head master, that he / she passed HSC examination in Oriya medium.
4.    The PB Candidates with disability of minimum 40% are eligible to apply.
5.    In case of Green card holder candidates. Green card of health & family welfare department, government of Orissa issued in favour of their parents, spouse or self by the concerned CDMO must be submitted with the application form.
6.    In case of EX- service man candidates, the EX- serviceman certificate issued in favour of their parents / spouse by the respective defiance headquarters / Rajya sainik board / Zilla sainik board must be submitted with the application form.
7.    The candidate in Urdu Category seeking admission in govt. Urdu S.T. School, CTC must have passed URDU as MIL in HSC Examination or any other examination declared as equivalent to HSC standard by the BSE, Orissa.
8.    The candidate of sports category must have represented the state in any game and submit the sports certificate issued by the directorate of sports.
9.    The outlying Oriya Tract (OOT) candidates who have prosecuted their studies up to HSC Examination in their respective states will be considered for selection under OOT category. They should have passed Oriya as a subject of study in HSC Examination or any such equivalent or higher examination (+2) or should have passed Oriya as a subject in special education conducted by BSE Orissa.

The Center for advanced training in earth system Sciences & Climate (CAT-ESSC) of the Ministry of Earth Sciences hosted by The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) is looking for Scientists trainees with outstanding academic back ground. The objective of CAT-ESSC is to generate a large pool of trained and dedicated earth systems scientist with In-depth hands-on expertise on individual physical processes of the land, Ocean, Atmosphere, Biosphere and cryosphere with special emphasis on climate modeling. For the motivated candidates, The training will offer considerable scope to realize their full potential in this highly challenging field.

The Candidates applying for the training should posses M.Sc / M.S. / M.Tech degree in the Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Chemistry Oceanography, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Physics, Any area of earth sciences or any equivalent Disciplines, with Physics & Mathematics at the B.Sc. ADMISSION IN TO INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TROPICAL METEOROLOGY.

One of the greatest challenges of Practical importance is the useful prediction of monsoon on weather and climate time scales. To address the problem of paucity of skilled scientific manpower required for improving the quality of weather and climate forecasts in the country, the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) is embarking on a world class training program in the field of Earth System Sciences and Climate with a view to understand the Science of climate Variability and change and to build capacity to make world class weather and climate forecasts with particular focus on the Indian monsoon. A
Large pool of trained and dedicated climate and earth System Modelers is proposed to be created through this program. In depth hands-on expertise building on individual physical processes of the land, ocean, atmosphere, biosphere and cryosphere is envisaged The program, however, will go beyond the conventional training on individual systems and address weather and climate as processes arising from interactions between the component systems. The Centre will have its own campus with all training and other infrastructural facilities In addition to the already available advanced facilities / Systems at IITM and other institutions of MoES, advanced High performance Computing facility and other state-of –the art infrastructure for Scientific research will be made available for the Centre.

Meritorious students with master’s in science or bachelors in engineering degree will be eligible for this integrated degree program leading to M.Tech and / or Ph .D Admissions to this job linked training program will be based on rigorous national eligibility tests and the first batch will start in July/August 2011 .The announcement for induction of trainees will be made in January, 2011. The Selected trainees will receive consolidated monthly pay of $25,000/- on entry and on successful completion of the program, will be placed in any one of the institutions of MoES viz . IITM, IMD, INCOLS, NIOT, NCAOR, NCMRWF, ICMAM and CMLRE or other leading research centers at appropriate scientific positions.

The Centre initially established by IITM, Will be a leading centre of research in tropical meteorology with excellent environment for academic activities and research in fundamental and applied aspects of land –ocean atmosphere interactions in the tropics. IITM has an efficient pool of scientists in theoretical and modeling studies strongly supported by diagnostic and field observational studies It has strong linkages and collaboration with various national and international organizations and it has academic programs leading to M.Sc., M.Tech and Ph.D . degrees. It has state-of-the-art advanced infrastructural facilities like High Performance Computer (HPC) System with 70 TF Peak performance and have suite of state of the art instruments for atmospheric and oceanographic observations as well as palaeoclimatic studies.

The Advanced Training Centre located in Pune, will have the best of the national faculty and regular international / national visiting faculty to guide the trainees. Starting with a few, a core faculty of about 20 outstanding scientists is proposed for the Centre. In association with the scientists of IITM, the core faculty  would be expected to conduct cutting edge research on the grand challenge mentioned above and inspire the trainees using theoretical, modeling and observational techniques. Currently, the Advanced Training Centre is looking for highly qualified faculty in the areas of earth system science, climate change research, climate dynamics and climate modeling.
