Applications are invited for admission in to Research Programmes (2012-2013) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific research, Bangalore in the following disciplines;
1. MS / PhD Programme: in Science and Engineering from students who have qualified in NET-JRF/LS under CSIR / UGC fellowship schemes or DBT / ICMR – JRF or GATE / JEST / INSPIRE / any other equivalent national level examinations.
2. Integrated PhD Programme: in materials Science, Chemical Science and Biological Science.
Eligibility Criteria for Int. PhD Programme:
a. Material Science: Bachelor’s Degree in any branch of Science. Those with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an aptitude towards scientific research will also be considered. Candidates are expected to have sound knowledge in the fundamentals of physics, chemistry and Mathematics.
b. Chemical Science: Bachelor’s Degree in any branch of Science with Chemistry as a major and Mathematics as a subject at least up to PUC (10+2 level).
c. Biological Sciences: this is offered in two disciplines
i. Evolutionary and Organismal Biology: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics. Those with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an aptitude towards scientific research will also be considered.
ii. Molecular Biology and Genetics: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science.
For all the above Int. Ph.D programmes, candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelor’s level.
