MBBS candidates are exempted from any of the eligibility tests mentioned herein. Those who have appeared but are awaiting results are also eligible to apply. However, only those candidates will be considered who produce proof of having cleared the CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/ICAR NET JRE or GATE (with 90%mark) or JEST. Admission to CDFD-Research scholars program is based on a 2-tier system involving a written/LAN based examination followed by interview of candidates who have qualified the written/LAN based examination.

In the case of candidates whose JRF examination result are announced before the written / LAN based examination of CDFD takes place and have qualified the NET with fellowship they will be eligible to appear for the CDFD examination upon  furnishing the relevant details of having cleared the JRF/NET with fellowship under “Spot Registration Category”.

RAJIV GANDHI NATIONAL FELLOWSHIP SCHEME (RGNFS) BY UNIVERSITY GRANTS COMMISSION.

The University Grants Commission invites applications for the award of fellowship for the year 2010-11 under Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship Scheme (RGNFS) for the benfit of SC/ST Candidates for the consideration to select the candidates for award of fellowship belonging to SC/ST Category under the scheme.
The Scheme has been initiated keeping in view the social background of the candidates for the deprived section of the society and provide them opportunity to undertake advanced studies and research in Sciences, Engg. & Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences in Indian Universities & Colleges. There are 2000 slots for scheduled caste and 667 slots fpr scheduled tribe every year for all subjects. 3% seats are reserved for physically handicapped candidates belonging to SC/ST Categories as per Govt. of India norms.
The objective of this award is provide fellowship in the form of financial assistance to students belonging to SC/ST to pursue studies leading to M.Phil/Ph.D degree (Full time) in Science, Engg .& Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences
The Candidates should have a post Graduate degree in the concerned subject & registered for M.Phil/Ph.D in recognized University /Institute/College.
The tenure of Fellowship is initially for two years under the RGNF Scheme. Before expiry of this period, the work of the fellow will be evaluated by the Committee of three members comprising of Head of the Department, Supervisor and one outside expert to be consitiuted by the concerned Department of the University / Institution / College. If the research work is found satisfactory, his /her tenure will be extended further for a period of three years under the enhanced emoluments of the Rajiv Gandhi National  Senior Research Fellowship (RGNSRF) . The recommendations of the Committee shall be submitted to the UGC For upgradation to the level of RGNSRF.

PRE-VETERINARY TEST BY VETERINARY COUNCIL OF INDIA.

Veterinary Council of India, a statutory body of the Government of India established under the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 invites application for All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) -2011 For Admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. Course For academic session 2011-2012.

Note: Students from the state of Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to appear in this test, as that State has not adopted the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 in the State of Jammu & Kashmir.

Essential Qualification: He / She has passed:
(i)    The Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher / Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study, the last two years of study with physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training after the Introduction of the 10+2+3 (years) educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.
(ii)    The Intermediate Science examination in Science from a recognized University / Board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (which shall include a practical test in these subjects) and English.
(iii)    Minimum Marks: To be eligible for AIPVT, candidates must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as enumerated above Further, he/she should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for General Category in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and  English at 10+2 / Intermediate Science Examination. Provided also that to be eligible for AIPVT the candidate must have passed the aforesaid subjects individually. For the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes / the Scheduled Tribes or other special category (Other Backward Classes) of Students as specified by the Government from time to time, Marks required for admission shall be 10% less than that prescribed for General Category.
(iv)    Age: He / She has attained or will attain the age of Seventeen (17) years as on 31st December, 2011 Candidates attaining seventeen years on 1st of January, 2012 or later will not be eligible to appear at the AIPVT.

This Ph.D. Programe is under the ageis of Homi Bhaba National Institute (HBNI), a deemed to be university.

A limited Number of Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs), awarded by Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), will be offered to those selected for the Ph.D. Program. The Fellowship amount is Rs. 12,000/- per month for first & second year & Rs. 14,000/- per month for subsequent years besides house rent and medical benefits as per rules. The candidates selected as per the BARC training school selection process can also pursue the Ph.D. Program with fellowship from other sources like UGC-CSIR, DBT, ICMR and other National agencies. A few meritorious candidates will be offered DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme Ph.D. (DGFS-Ph.D.) Fellowship. It carries fellowship of Rs. 15,000/- per month in the first year and Rs. 18,000/- pm in succeeding years.

Selection for the Ph.D Program is a two step process. Screening to short-list candidates followed by interview of short-listed candidates.

Eligibility:

Those having MSE in Physics/ Chemistry / Biology or related Science subjects with minimum 60% marks in M.Sc. as well as B.Sc. or B.E. / B.Tech or equivalent with minimum 60% marks in one of the following engineering discipline : Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Instrumentation are eligible to apply.

Applicant for Physics Discipline should have Physics & Mathematics up to B.Sc. or at Subsidiary and / or ancillary level in case of 5 years integrated M.Sc.. Applicants for Chemistry discipline should have Mathematics up to XII standard and Physics up to B.Sc. or at subsidiary and / or ancillary level in case of 5 years integrated M.Sc.

For Biology & related disciplines M.Sc in Agriculture, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Botant, Zoology, Plant Science, Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Food Technology, Animal Science, Life Science and Biosciences; or BE / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Tech) only in food Technology with minimum of 60% marks. M.Sc. applicants should have Physics or Chemistry or Biochemistry or Agriculture Chemistry up to B.Sc. or at subsidiary and / or Ancillary level in case of 5 year Integrated M.Sc. with minimum of 60% aggregate marks in M.Sc. as well as in B.Sc.. Applicants opting to be considered on the basic of GATE score should have valid GATE score in life Sciences. Those having M.Sc. with specialization with subjects like Fisheries, Horticulture, Forestry, Agronomy, Animal Husbandry, Marine Biology & Home Science etc. and BE / B.Tech. / M.Tech. in Biotechnology / Genetic Engineering are not eligible.

*A minimum of 60% marks means that 60% minimum marks in the qualifying degree / PG Degree as per the ordinance of the respective university in the respective disciplines or equivalent CGPA (Converted to % marks by multiplying with 100/x if CGPA is on x point scale).

Those whose final results of qualifying degree are awaited can also apply. In the event of selection mark sheets of final results should be submitted by November 30, 2010. The candidates desirous of availing DAE Fellowship should have been born on or after September 1, 1984. Age limit is relaxable by three years for OBC and by five years for SC/ST applicants.
